Effective Ways to Use Your Logo on Holiday Cards

The holidays are most likely your busiest season. So, why not take advantage of the multitudes of people who are searching for the perfect holiday gift and seize the opportunity to make your business more recognizable? You can gather new customers and enhance current relationships with a simple holiday greeting or message of thanks sent out on corporate holiday cards. But the most essential aspect of designing your holiday cards involves including your logo.

By adding your logo to your holiday cards you can transform them into an effective advertising tool. Having your logo on the front of your cards, or even on the envelopes, helps customers to instantly recognize who it’s from. Furthermore, adding your logo to all of your marketing materials, including holiday your greetings, is a great way to provide a consistent reinforcement of your brand.

While adding your logo is the first step to creating an effective marketing tool out of your holiday cards, you can’t just put it anywhere. You want to make sure your customers know exactly who sent those holiday well-wishes, and the best way to do that is to make your logo as noticeable as possible. Here are a few tips to make sure your business gets recognized amidst the piles of holiday mail:

1.       Put your logo on the front of your card. Don’t bury your logo inside your card. Place it on the front in a prominent place so that customers will see it immediately. If you want to get noticed even faster, add it to your return address labels.

2.       Make sure your logo doesn’t blend in with the rest of the design. As you pick out a design for your holiday cards, consider what colors will work best with your company’s logo. If your colors are red and blue, you may want to pick a card that has a lighter background such as white or yellow. This will ensure that your logo pops out to your audience.

3.       Keep it simple. You might like the elaborate scroll-work or floral pattern of a particular card design, but once you add your logo, it just gets lost in all the details. Choose a design that will not only feature a holiday theme, but make your logo clear and uncluttered. Designs with open spaces are perfect because you can just drop your logo right in.

Put these tips to use to get the most out of your holiday marketing efforts. Remember, sending holiday cards is the perfect way to thank customers for their continued support and to show how much they are appreciated all year long.

Golfing Spending Down

Although the Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal reported that golf spending is down in 2009, many golf schools are reporting record enrollment. This could be due to the attractiveness of a career in golf, coupled with people’s desire to return to education after not finding work. Keiser University is a provider of golf education (see their video below) and are poised to expand their golf facilities this year due to an increase in enrollment after the launch of the golf school.

Choosing the Right Hearing Aid

Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays is just about over it is time for me to get on with my life.  I have things that I put off that need to be taken care of, so there is no time like the present to do that.

One of the things that I have really been putting off is deciding which model of hearing aid to buy.  Sadly, it seems like my hearing has left me, and since my work depends on being able to hear my client’s needs, getting one is not an option – it is a necessity.

So, I have been pouring over hearing aids comparisons, trying to find the perfect one for me.  Do I want one that is larger, but has clearer sound, or do I want one that is unnoticeable?

It has definitely been a struggle.

I just wish it was as easy as looking at the hearing aid prices and picking the one that matched my budget, but since I have some health coverage for work, price isn’t an issue – they will pretty much cover whatever I spend.

I might just have to go in to my doctor and ask him which would be best for me – at the rate I am going, I will never figure it out for myself.

I Just Can’t Sleep

There is nothing worse than waking up and not being able to fall asleep, but it happens.  I woke up a little more than an hour ago, and I have been unable to get to sleep at all.  After staring at the ceiling for half an hour, I decided to get up and do something.

So, I have been sitting at the computer, downloading the pictures off my camera card with my compact flash card reader.  I know that some of you will be laughing when you read this (because my camera does in fact use compact flash cards), but it is a good old camera that takes wonderful pictures.

After downloading the pictures I usually go through each one and color correct them with some photo editing software.  It can be tedious work, so I am hoping that it makes me sleepy.

But since it is just about time to get up anyway, I wonder whether or not it is wise to fall asleep.  I don’t know about you, but if I fall asleep but don’t sleep long enough, I usually feel worse than when I went to bed.

I guess I’ll just have to play it by ear, and if I fall asleep, that will be great.  If not, at least I will get these pictures done.

Cleaning Out the Garage

garage Since the family will be gone for most of the day, I have decided to take the time to clean out my garage.  I realize that winter might be a weird time of year to do it, but since I am allergic to dust, winter is perfect – all I have to content with is the snow.

But if you have ever been to my house, you will know that our large two car garage is filled with junk.  Now, most people do have a little bit of stuff stored in their garage, but mine is packed to the roof.  In some respects it is really embarrassing, but there is just not enough room in my little house for everything.

So, I think I will go through what is in there and take some of it to the dump.  Take for example the pop up displays that I have from a trade show that I did five years ago – I don’t think that I need to keep them anymore.

I just hope that I can clean out enough stuff to make room for our second vehicle in the garage since it would be handier to have it inside so I don’t have to scrape off the windows on the way to work.

Anyway, time to go out and get started.  Wish me luck!
