Little Touches Make Business Better

I have had the same massage therapist for about ten years. I go to her because she is a great massage therapist, of course. But I also go to her because she’s a terrific business woman. She knows just how to add the right little touches to make improvements to her business without actually changing the overall way that she works.

A recent addition to the massage therapy office was that she started using aromatherapy soy candles in some of her treatments. I had received aromatherapy massages from her in the past but they only used scented oils and lotions. These new richly scented candles give a great feeling to the massage room that is better than the oils can provide. And the fact that they are soy candles shows that she’s always interested in being as eco-friendly as possible in her business.

Over the years, I have tried to implement her method of making little changes into my own work. I have come to believe that a business should have a solid foundation of beliefs (for example, my therapist’s belief in being green) but that it should also adapt to changes and offer something new to clients now and then.
