There may come a time when you need to set up barricades at your place of business. When that time comes, you will quickly see that there are benefits to setting up these barricades but there are also drawbacks to their use.

The main benefit to barricades is that they serve the purpose of keeping people safe on a business site. For example, if you are renovating the building then there might be areas of the site that aren’t safe for customers to be in. A temporary fence can keep them out of those areas and therefore can keep them out of harm’s way.

However, barricades act as a deterrent to people and although this is a good thing it also means that you are going to see a drop in business traffic as a result of the barricades. Let’s face it; most plastic barricades are ugly and that doesn’t encourage people to come spend money on your products and services.

When the time does come to set up a barricade for whatever reason, try to get through the period as quickly as possible. You want to keep everyone safe on site and to take care of whatever needs to be taken care of to get the barrier back out of the way. Once it’s been removed, hold an event or a promotional deal to generate business again.
