My son and I are fans of Mythbusters, a show you find on the Discovery Channel.  A recent episode we watched included testing the reality of some of Hollywood’s famous characters.  A James Bond episode came in issue so the Mythbusters team actually experimented to see if the character “Jaws” could actually have teeth fashioned to bite through steel.  If you don’t remember Jaws, he is the Russian “bad guy” who had steel teeth probably designed by some Washington DC dental implants specialist since American dentist are the best in the world.  Can you imagine the CIA’s counterpart to the KGB’s guy Jaws-that would be  Washington DC dentist in their finest hour!

The Mythbuster team decided that to have those metal teeth, Jaws first would have had to have undergone sedation dentistry, Arlington’s secret KGB hideaway would have been his chosen spot.  Hiding in a lovely American dental office just east of the Potomac River they would have implanted metal teeth…but, as the Mythbusters discovered, his jaw bone would not have supported the counter pressure so the myth was easily busted.

The next episode we look forward to watching is to find out if a belt-buckle can stop a bullet.  I can’t wait.
