Need to Decide Between Denver and Phoenix

I can’t decide whether to live in Colorado or to live in the Phoenix area.  I love the beautiful scenery in Colorado, and right now we have a mountain home with lovely trees.  Snow doesn’t bother me, and I appreciate that it is less congested here, intelligent and full of the arts, as well as sports.

What I don’t like is the beating the weather gives to your things, your home, your clothes and your car.  Also, the pollen and dust is hard to control.  Where my sister lives in Phoenix, it seems so much easier to keep things clean.  She’s actually able to have a Fire Magic outside kitchen.  Everything about it stays kept up and colorful-it doesn’t look worn-out in a short period of time.  Her outdoor kitchen cabinets take a beating from the heat, but it’s nothing compared to a beating from the snow.  But speaking of the heat, I can’t stand it!  And the area is getting to be more and more like the LA area.  Still, all of her things seem to stay nicer longer.  Then again, I think I would miss the beautiful scenery terribly.  About the nicest thing to look at in that whole area is Squaw Peak.

So while I go back and forth in my decision, I guess the best thing to do is to let time and circumstance make the decision for me.

I would think it would be dusty in Phoenix. Isn’t there a lot of sand? I don’t know if I could deal with the heat either. If you don’t love the weather don’t move there! You’ll be miserable.

How can you even think about leaving Colorado? I couldn’t do it, I would miss the mountains too much. What is there to do in Phoenix anyway?

Yeah, Phoenix isn’t that scenic and it’s getting to be too big. Have you considered Sedona? I went there on vacation once and I loved it, there’s lots of hiking if you’re into the outdoors. I guess it’s pretty touristy though.

I love Arizona. I cannot do snow!!! Give me heat anyday. Yeah the mountains are nice and all but I just cannot deal with all that snow. My sister lives in CO and some winters she is stuck in her house for days at a time.

Get a winter house in Phoenix and keep your summer home in Denver! Then you can have the best of both worlds. Of course that is only if you have the budget for two houses, lol.

An outdoor kitchen actually sounds really cool. I guess that makes sense because it’s so hot there… you wouldn’t want to heat up your house even more by turning on the oven or the stove. I’ve never been to Arizona, are you able to cook outside year round?
