If you are a fan of Enya then it’s time to celebrate. The well-known musician is coming out with a Greatest Hits compilation. This is meaningful to a lot of people although others question whether the hits on this album are really considered “hits” in the traditional sense of the word.

There are a lot of people out there who consider Enya to be more of a joke than a musician. They believe that she epitomizes all things “New Age” and that there’s something funny about that. They don’t take her seriously as a musical genius. This is unfortunate because her music has meant something special to a lot of people.

One of the most popular occasions when you might hear Enya’s songs played is during the exchange of Claddagh wedding rings at a Celtic wedding. Regardless of whether or not the songs hit the top of the musical charts, they clearly hold important meaning for all of those people who played Enya at their weddings.

And even if your Celtic heritage is limited to the wearing of some Celtic jewelry now and then, you might appreciate Enya for other reasons. I, myself, remember learning about her music in a high school dance class. That class was the only class I liked and her music is dear to me for that reason. I say we celebrate the new CD!
