Making a Quick Profit as a Pawn Shop Owner

One of the things that I learned early on in my business career was that in order to profit, you needed to provide your customers with timely and efficient service.  Not only that, but in some respects, you needed to be in the right place at the right time with the right products to truly make good money.  With that lesson in mind, I opened my first pawn shop.

Perhaps the smartest thing that I did with that pawn shop was to become a gold buyer.  My strategy was to give the person who brought the jewelry in a reasonable price, but well below the market price.  This would put me in a position that I would make a profit almost all of the time, so it was a good business decision.

From time to time, I would have problems when I went to sell my gold, but I tried to make sure that I had good buyers lined up as often as possible.  There is nothing worse than having my money tied up in the gold jewelry that I bought from the customers, but for the most part, I was able to turn it over quickly.

As far as business ventures go, my life as a pawn shop owner has been a very good one.  Though there is room for improvement, buying and selling gold has been the way my business has prospered.  I will be opening up my second pawn shop shortly, and I hope to have the same success as the first.
