Sushi for My Birthday

My birthday is tomorrow, and I can’t wait!  It’s already been a fantastic birthday: Hubby helped me buy a netbook to replace my ailing three and a half year old laptop (the old one is now backup), and then while shopping with my mom on Friday I unexpectedly found an antique nightstand in exactly the style I was looking for to go by my side of the bed.

Tomorrow hubby is going to take me to dinner at my favorite restaurant: a Japanese restaurant with the best sushi I’ve ever had!  For four years now, we’ve been going there for every special occasion and then periodically just for the fun of it.

Of course with the economy, our budget for eating out isn’t as big as it used to be, and therefore we don’t get to go to my favorite restaurant very often.  We even are having to push back our plans of looking at new townhomes in Carlsbad — despite what a good deal Carlsbad and San Diego real estate is right now!  Considering how much I like sushi, I suppose we probably ought to learn how to make it at home to save money — but I don’t know, it looks hard to me!  (See video below.)  Of course, I’m not really much of a cook, so practically anything that’s not microwaveable looks hard to me.

Anyway, I have some more work to finish tonight so that I can enjoy my birthday at least somewhat work-free tomorrow, so I’d better get to it — otherwise I’ll be stuck in the home office all day!
