People who are working in all types of different careers are struggling financially because of the recession. Even people who work in lucrative careers, such as audiology, may need to look at ways to supplement their income.
Some ways that an audiologist could earn a little bit of extra cash might include:
- Doing private work as well as working for a company. A combination of your own patients and the patients of a larger company could help to make ends meet until the recession ends.
- Writing about audiology work. Audiologists could write journal articles or articles that might be sold to magazines for a little bit of extra cash.
- Endorsing products. Writing positive hearing aids reviews is one example of how an audiologist might get solicited to do endorsements.
- Inventing new products. If you can come up with a new way to solve a problem in your field then you can sell products associated with that and make a difference to the industry at the same time. New hearing tests or hearing aids would be a great invention for an audiologist.
- Selling unneeded equipment. If you are working less then you may have equipment that you can sell to hold you over financially until times get better.
Get creative and you can make some extra money no matter what you job title is.

There is a big push by both federal and local governments to start finding ways to really use renewable resources. We are seeing a lot of scientific and technological developments being made in this area. Two of the biggest areas of development are in the use of solar power and the use of wind power.
We are seeing major advances in the way that solar power is being used by people today. The biggest change here is that we are seeing more widespread adoption of solar power by residents of average income. This is due in large part to the fact that the economy has forced solar businesses to lower their prices.
Solar power has been popular for awhile even if it wasn’t really affordable for the average person. Now we’re also seeing a growing popularity in the development of wind power. Wind farms are something that we’re starting to see pop up all over the landscape and we’re likely to see many new wind power options in the years to come.
There are many signs of this type of change. One such sign is the fact that LEED training sites (which help business people who want to be a LEED green associate) are starting to offer both solar power and wind power classes. This is the way of green business in the very near future!

There are some degrees that you have been able to get online for several years now. And there are some degrees that you still can’t get online. But what about those degrees in the middle - the ones that are new but quickly becoming popular?
Here’s a look at five up-and-coming online degrees:
- Physical therapy degrees. People who want to do physical therapy work can definitely get their degrees online now. There are even a lot of specialized online physical therapy programs like online pa programs, the transitional physical therapy online programs and sports medicine online.
- Art degrees. There are many different art degrees that you can now do online. This is great because it means that you can spend time in your studio creating your art instead of going back and forth to campus.
- Homeland security degrees. This is a relatively new college degree that is starting to be offered online now through some schools.
- Computer forensics degrees. The hottest area of computers that you can study online right now is computer forensics. This would definitely be an interesting degree.
- Liberal arts degrees. It’s taken awhile for this common degree to become available online but it’s now something that you should be able to do through an accredited school online.

One of the most frustrating things about this time of year is that everyone is so busy that most of us lose track of things. It seems that between getting the house all decorated and going out to buy presents that time just flies by, and we just don’t know what is going on.
I found myself in this position today, and let me tell you that it has been very frustrating. We have been packing up for our trip that we will be leaving on in just two days, and therefore things have been a little crazier than usual.
I would like to think that I am pretty successful when it comes to organizing, and even make lists, but it sure didn’t help me today at all. In fact, right now I just feel like burning the list.
I thought that I had everything together until I went to look for our digital camera. No trip would be complete without it, and I wanted to make sure that the batteries were charged before we left. I was the last one that had it, and I was sure I put it in the camera bag.
It should have been an easy process, but unfortunately we have about five camera cases that we use, and I wasn’t sure which one it was in. I was able to find three of them, but as for the other two, I don’t know where they are.
I just hope that I can find the camera before we get on the plane – it would be really sad not to have any pictures of the trip that I could scrapbook.

I recently went to meet up with a new hiking group. This group was filled with people who all seemed to be particularly smart. As conversations will, ours turned to the topic of our jobs. What I discovered is that our group had jobs that are all a little bit out of the ordinary but I’m not sure if I would say that they were really interesting or not.
For example, one of the guys works as an electrical engineer who specializes in designing new lighting ballasts. He tried to explain something to the group about Fulham Ballast and Metal Halide Ballast options and what they do and what the difference is between them. It was moderately interesting but it’s such a specialized topic that it didn’t make for good conversation for the whole hiking group.
A few of us have slightly more “normal” jobs as writers or bloggers or graphic designers. We work freelance and we cover a wide range of topics in our work so we can talk more broadly about what we do. I’m sure that this was also disinteresting to some people on the hike though. Are the jobs that normal people have any more interesting or should we all just stop talking about our jobs altogether?!
