If you are considering taking the LEED exam in order to further your career in architectural design and building, you’ll want to be sure you have every chance to succeed. In today’s marketplace, the more you have going for you as an architect the higher your chances of success.
Our world truly needs to have compassionate, intelligent and motivated professionals that understand what it means to design and build energy efficient structures. Even more than that comes the concepts associated with creating new from old. Many individuals that take LEED classes do so because they want to build a better world; one structure at a time.
A favorite activity of many LEED certified professionals includes the active practice of re-using building materials from former structures. It is not uncommon to see these new world builders scouring demolitions sites in order to find items that can be reused in the buildings they are working on.
In addition to keeping those materials from entering the landfill, they are adding quality, texture and versatility to the new structures. Items like door knobs, steel and heavy wooden beams, even moldings with a little love and care are finding their way to continue to serve in new capacities.
