As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I have been considering buying a home with horse property.  It’s a big decision, and there are a lot of cons as well as the obvious pros.

For example, there is always the rather sobering thought of moving again.  Moving can be expensive — renting a truck or hiring movers, buying moving supplies, etc. — as well as time consuming.  Plus, you have to change your address with all of your accounts, clean up your old place after you move out, and tons of other tasks that can add up to a lot of time and money spent.

In this particular case, though, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.  I can deal with the hassle and expense of moving for the opportunity to keep my horse in my backyard.  It’ll save us some money in the long run to be able to keep my horse at home, particularly if we take advantage of the size of the property and take on a couple of boarders.  Not to mention it will be a huge relief to be the one in charge of the care of my horse, and to know that he is being properly cared for at all times.

Oh yeah, I can deal with the hassle and expense of moving for the sake of my horse.  You betcha I can!
