Clothing for Girls: Pretty but not Sexy
By soDeep in Shopping | 0 comments
There comes a time in the life of every little girl’s parents when she wants to start wearing clothes that they think are too sexy for her. How do you go about helping your little girl choose clothing that is stylish and pretty but not too old for her age? It’s a tough thing to do but here are some tips to get you started:
- Determine what your boundaries are. There are some things that parents just don’t want to see their kids in yet (like fishnet stockings). Figure out what your boundaries are.
- Figure out what you’re okay with. On the flip side, you also need to figure out what you’re fine with your daughter wearing. The place in between this and the no-no’s is where you can start to shop.
- Get familiar with the fit of clothing. Some tight clothing looks appropriate and some doesn’t. Being good with style helps you know this. If you’re not too good about this yourself then it’s time to learn. Help your daughter learn with you.
- Shop around for an appropriate style. You may actually find that girls european clothing is a better choice than American clothing because it’s not as overtly sexy. Cakewalk clothing is a good brand to start with.
- Learn to talk to your daughter about the issues. The real issue is not really the clothing, of course. The issue is that your daughter’s growing up and becoming interested in her appearance. If you talk about the underlying stuff that is going on then you’ll have a better chance of working out the clothing issue calmly.
