I know there’s an economic crisis right now and all that downer stuff, but I am so thrilled for college shopping.  I’ve already totaled it up and I have a thousand dollars to spend decorating my dorm room.  Can you believe that?  I mean, yes, I’ve been working since I was fifteen and I don’t go hang out at the beach with my friends, but I have my own money and I’m going to spend it!  I want to buy a crazy fridge, a totally nice microwave, some great storage, maybe some pictures instead of the stupid posters everyone buys from a truck sale for a dollar a piece at the beginning of the year.  Che Guevara will not be gracing my wall; Deathcab for Cutie can be all transatlantic on another person’s space.  I am going to buy myself some custom bedding, maybe in one of those hip teen bedding styles like black and white bedding.  Then I can throw in a pop of color and it will be totally modern.  I need my dorm room to be a sumptuous sanctuary; I’m not really a bare bones kind of girl.  I’ve worked for it, and now I’m going to spend it.
