Old friends and New Perspectives

I was out shopping for a maternity dress in the maternity clothing department of a store at the mall this weekend. I ran into a friend of mine that I never thought I would see shopping for clothes in preparation of having a baby. She was always so focused on her career and had always planned on having children later in her life. We had lost touch for awhile, and I guess in that time things had changed.
After high school, which is where I knew her from back in the day, she ended up meeting a guy who had a younger sibling that she really got along with and helped to finally introduce her to the joys of young people. She later went on to marry the guy and they are expecting not their first child but their third one this spring. What a difference a few years makes! She seemed to be very excited about it and told me all about the two kids she already has. It was fun to run into her and see how much people can change. It gives me hope for all the other people in high school you thought never would.
