Why is My Gas Bill High
By Sojourner in Society | 1 comment
During the last month, my gas bill has almost doubled. It is not during a particular time of year that would dictate higher utility costs so I became concerned that I might have a small leak. I have had the gas company come out and test the lines two times and each time it comes back with no distress. Then I got the next months’ bill and it was doubled again. I strongly feel there is something inaccurate so I purchased a flow meter to monitor the effectiveness of propane flow.
I purchased the flow measurement instrument on line and I think it will be very useful to help me determine how much gas we are really using. I know there is a possibility that my family could be using more energy for some reason, but I still wonder if there is a possibility that the gas company might not be correct in their billing. Either way, I think this tool will pay for itself as I will either curb my family’s use of energy or I will have a better case to plead to the gas company. Also, if there is a small leak this instrument will help me detect it quicker.
I am glad that consumers have access to the same kind of mass flow meter that the utility company uses so we are able to have piece of mind in our homes.
