I can think of nothing better to do during summer than cruising around in my boat.  Well, okay, cruising around with my family in our boat would be perfect.  There is nothing quite like spending a sunny afternoon out on the lake with the wind rushing through your hair – it is like spending a moment in heaven.

But, these weekends would have never been possible if it wasn’t for my employer giving us a good deal on the Mercury Outboard parts that we needed to get our baby running again.  After last summer’s little accident (that can be a story for another time), we had a broken Powerhead, but there never seemed to be enough extra money to make that happen.

Thankfully, my employer understood our problems and let us make a payment off of each of my paychecks, and therefore we can still enjoy the wild weekends at the lake.

I don’t know how many weekends at the lake we will be able to spend together as a family, since my wife has been diagnosed with Cancer, and truth be told, who knows if she will recover or not.  Though we remain optimistic, it has made every moment that we spend with her even more important.  But when we are at the lake, we all have fun and leave those problems at home – which is the way it should be.
