Aerial Art

There are many businesses that use aerial photography for their digital mapping. I use it for art.
I work with photography, and my main form of photography is to rent a plane, travel over the world and take pictures of things from far away. I call it “The Eyes of God” and the purpose is to show that everything, no matter how large, is small when seen from high in the sky. I travel over areas with cars, trucks, buildings, houses – everywhere I can, taking photographs of the ground and showing how no matter how big something is it looks small from far away.
My favorite pieces, however, are the ones where a bird is flying near my camera. The bird will appear huge, and the buildings, no matter how large, will look tiny next to it.
This type of photography may be most often used for aerial mapping, but it also feels like it puts the world in perspective and shows others that no matter how big something seems, no matter how important something is in life or how much something feels as though it has an effect on your mind, it can always appear small when looked at from an alternate perspective.
